Reuters reports that Tencent, China’s biggest social media and video games company, has blacklisted 37 companies from future contracts and fired more than 100 staff over embezzlement and bribery incidents – which shows that large companies remain especially vulnerable to bribery and corruption. Given the financial as well as reputational benefits of such internal enforcement action; all organisations big and small should ensure they operate effective anti-bribery and whistleblowing processes.
