FCA Publishes Progress Made by Synthetic Data Expert Group

The FCA has published information on progress made by the Synthetic Data Expert Group (SDEG) since its creation in March 2023, as well as the groups forthcoming intentions.

The Group has brought together 21 experts from across financial services, public sector, data and technology vendors, and consumer groups, to explore the use of synthetic data in financial markets.

The Group intends to:

  • Produce a report on using synthetic data in practice; and
  • Create a collaborative framework between the public and private sector.

Firms can view the published update to learn more about the SDEG and how to get involved in providing feedback on its progress.
