Final Beneficial Ownership Information Reporting Rule Issued by FinCEN

The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) has issued a final rule on the use of FinCEN identifiers in Beneficial Ownership Information Reporting.

The final rule amends FinCEN’s current Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) Reporting Rule and specifies the clear criteria that must be met by reporting companies.

The final rule will be effective on January 1st 2024 to align with the effective date of the BOI Reporting Rule.

Firms with U.S. operations should review the FinCEN final rule in advance of the forthcoming changes to beneficial ownership reporting requirements.
