EU Launches New European Tax Observatory

The European Union has created an independent monitoring body, the European Tax Observatory, to help drive policies against tax evasion/avoidance through research, analysis and data-sharing.

Financial Institutions should anticipate new policies and requirements surrounding tax evasion and/or avoidance in the future, and potential for harmonisation of some requirements in this area.
