PSR Seek Consultation on Guidance to Identify APP Scams

The Payment Services Regulator (PSR) launched a consultation on draft guidance for firms in identifying APP scams and civil disputes.

The consultation follows the PSR’s acknowledgement of the practical challenges faced by the industry in distinguishing between APP scams and civil disputes.

All UK Payment services providers will be in scope for the forthcoming APP reimbursement rules and can respond to the consultation until the 8th August.

The reimbursement rule for fraudulent transactions made through the Faster Payments Scheme (FPS) comes into force on 7th October 2024.
