PSR Publishes Consultation Following FSMA 2023 Passing

The Payment Systems Regulator (PSR) has published a consultation on its review of general directions and generally imposed requirements, following the passing of The Financial Services and Markets Act 2023 (FSMA).

The PSR seeks feedback on its proposal to publish a review framework explaining:

  • How the PSR identifies when it should review generally applicable requirements;
  • The methods the PSR may adopt;
  • How stakeholders can request a review or respond to the PSR’s relevant consultations; and
  • How the PSR would prioritise a review.
  • This consultation document is relevant to the payments industry and those regulated by the PSR, as well as firms, consumer groups and other organisations.

The consultation is open until the 22 December, and the PSR aims to publish a response in early 2024.
