UK Imposes New Trade Sanctions on Russian Energy and Goods

The UK Government introduced new trade sanctions targeting Russian energy revenues, synthetic diamonds, and other restricted goods.

The sanctions entered force on 24 April 2025 and amend the Russia (Sanctions) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019.

Key goods and services affected by the package include:

➡️ Energy related goods and technologies;

➡️ G7 dependency goods and technologies;

➡️ Diamonds processed in third party countries; and

➡️ Critical industry goods and technologies.

Sanctions officers should ensure their controls frameworks and procedures are adapted to account for the additional sanctions and in scope restricted goods and services.
