HK Launches Stablecoin Issues Sandbox Arrangement

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) has launched a stablecoin issuer sandbox arrangement.

Firms interested in applying to the arrangement should view the press release and take any appropriate action.

Tying in with the previously published consultation on the legislative proposal for implementing the regulatory regime for stablecoin issuers, the HKMA aims to leverage the sandbox arrangement to communicate supervisory expectations to parties interested in issuing fiat-referenced stablecoins in Hong Kong, as well as to obtain feedback from participants on the proposed regulatory requirements.
