EU targets crypto in next package of Russia sanctions

In a bid to close potential loopholes which could allow the transfer of funds abroad, the European Union targeted crypto wallets in its fifth package of sanctions on Russia. EU-based crypto exchanges were already required to apply sanctions that prohibit transactions from targeted individuals, but there were concerns that loopholes remained so prohibitions have been extended on deposits to crypto wallets.
