EU adds Cameroon and Vietnam to high-risk third countries list

The European Commission has adopted an amendment to Delegated Regulation (EU) 2016/1675 which will add Cameroon and Vietnam to the list of high-risk third countries with strategic deficiencies in their anti-money laundering / countering the financing of terrorism (“AML/CFT”) regimes.

The amendment was adopted 18th August 2023 and is subject to a one-month scrutiny period by the European Parliament. If there are no objections, the Regulation will enter into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.

Firms should remain up-to-date with potential forthcoming changes to the list of high-risk third countries.
