UK aims for more transparency in property and land ownership

The UK government has recently launched a new register to improve the transparency of the ultimate beneficial owners of overseas companies that control property and land in the UK. The Register of Overseas Entities will require anonymous foreign companies owning or seeking to buy UK land to reveal their true owners to companies house, ensuring criminals cannot hide behind secretive chains of shell companies.
