UKFIU Publishes June 2026 SARs Reporter Booklet

The UK Financial Intelligence Unit (UKFIU) published its June 2026 Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) Reporter Booklet.

Key points include:

➡️ Enhanced Intelligence Development: Multiple case studies demonstrated how SAR intelligence allowed investigators to connect accounts, businesses, devices and individuals across separate investigations, strengthening intelligence-led enforcement activity;

➡️ Protection of Vulnerable Victims: SARs helped identify the abuse of powers of attorney, trace approximately £1 million in suspected criminal proceeds and support confiscation proceedings while safeguarding vulnerable individuals; and

➡️ Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Detection: DAML reporting enabled law enforcement agencies to identify suspected brothels, disrupt human trafficking activity and secure arrests for money laundering, modern slavery and related offences.

✅ Firms should continue to prioritise high-quality SAR and DAML reporting, ensure transaction monitoring controls identify emerging money laundering and fraud typologies, and incorporate UKFIU case study learnings into financial crime risk assessments and staff training.
