PSR Publishes Latest APP Scams Reimbursement Dashboard

The Payment Systems Regulator (PSR) released the latest authorised push payment (APP) scams reimbursement dashboard.

The APP scams reimbursement dashboard Q3 2025, provides an assessment of the first year of the mandatory reimbursement requirement.

Key updates include:

➡️ 88% (£173m) of money lost to reimbursable APP scams was returned to victims between October 2024 and September 2025, compared with a 65% reimbursement rate reported by UK Finance in 2024;

➡️ Consumers submitted around 269,000 APP scam claims over the year, with 188,000 in scope for reimbursement - around 15% fewer claims than the previous year;

➡️ Reimbursement rates in Q3 2025 increased slightly compared with Q2, remaining between 87-89%, while total quarterly reimbursements rose to £61.1m;

➡️ While the proportion of claims resolved within five days dipped to 78% in Q3 2025, the overall average across the first year remains around 85%; and

➡️ Claims rejected for insufficient consumer caution remain consistently low at around 3%, despite an increase in overall claim volumes.

Payment firms should continue to focus on timely claims handling, and operational performance as APP scam volumes increase under the reimbursement regime.
