The report set out the NECC's work with partners to tackle fraud and illicit finance between 1 April 2025 and 31 March 2026.
Key updates include:
➡️ Strengthened Private-Sector Partnerships: The NECC strengthened partnerships with the financial, telecommunications and technology sectors;
➡️ New Data-Led Capabilities: New approaches to sharing and analysing data, including the Data Fusion initiative, as part of a shift from "fragmented intelligence to fusion";
➡️ System Prioritisation: The NECC developed System Prioritisation as part of its updated strategic direction, focused on disrupting fraud, disrupting illicit finance and strengthening partnerships across the economic crime system;
➡️ Online Crime Centre Foundations: They laid the foundations for the Online Crime Centre during 2025-26; and
➡️ International Partnerships: The NECC built international partnerships aimed at tackling fraud at its source, alongside operations targeting serious and organised criminals operating both in the UK and overseas.
✅ Firms should continue to engage with the NECC's public-private partnership model and data-sharing initiatives such as Data Fusion, and monitor developments on System Prioritisation and the Online Crime Centre as these capabilities scale over the coming year.
