EU Commission Proposes Delay to Key Provisions of the AI Act

The European Commission proposed delaying key provisions of the EU Artificial Intelligence (AI) Act.

➡️The changes would delay the implementation of some sections of the act from August 2026 to December 2027.

➡️The proposals require approval from the European Parliament and Council, but are expected to be approved.

✅ Firms should accelerate internal AI governance work, strengthen oversight tools, and prepare for evolving regulatory obligations despite the proposed changes to implementation deadlines.
