Alan has a proven track record in delivering complex and business-critical programmes, specialising in Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) advisory and transformation. He has led significant FCC transformation initiatives for multiple global financial institutions and has a deep understanding of FCC regulations.

With  25 years of consulting experience in financial services, Alan is a recognised expert in the field. He is a nominated FCA S166 Skilled Person and serves as a subject matter expert and advisor to Heads of Financial Crime Compliance at global institutions. His expertise spans AML, CDD, CTF, sanctions, PF, fraud, ABC, and tax evasion, with a comprehensive knowledge of FCC laws, governance, and senior management accountability.

Alan started his career at Accenture and has spent over two decades in Risk and Compliance consulting, with a focus on FCC for the past 11 years. His extensive experience includes working with five of the 14 banks subject to the Systematic AML Programme (SAMLP) in the UK, as well as leading banks, insurance companies, and asset management firms.

As a transformation specialist, Alan has designed and led multi-year programmes, providing strategic advice to CXOs and Heads of Financial Crime Compliance on implementing robust financial crime control frameworks and addressing regulatory feedback. Currently, he is focused on developing Plenitude’s cryptoasset advisory capability, advising firms on cryptoasset risks and controls. He has also contributed to thought leadership papers aimed at educating financial institutions on cryptoasset risks and fostering dialogue between regulators, crypto firms, and financial institutions.
