BARBARA PATOW

Barbara has over 30 years banking industry experience covering financial crime risk and operational management across the first and second lines of defence, with strong expertise in AML, CTF, Economic and Trade Sanctions, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Tax Evasion, Fraud and Proliferation Financing.

Prior to joining the Plenitude team, Barbara was the COO for the Global Liquidity and Cash Management business and Head of Correspondent Banking at HSBC, working closely with the risk teams in managing all aspects of the financial crime control framework.  Through these role she developed deep expertise in global payments, digital transformation and correspondent banking.

During her time at HSBC Barbara also spent 7 years as a Financial Crime Compliance Executive where she played a key role in delivering the CDD Global Standards Programme in addition to her BAU responsibilities.  This included the development of the end to end Transaction Monitoring Framework and associated projects, development of PEPs screening initiatives and training the business and Executive team.

Barbara’s industry experience has allowed her to develop a strong understanding of the practical implications of implementing FCC transformation initiatives across the first and second line. She also has extensive experience in leading and motivating multi-disciplined and geographically dispersed teams; and excellent stakeholder management skills having reported into Global Compliance Heads and Group CEO’s.
