The ESA includes the European Banking Authority, the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority, and the European Securities and Markets Authority.

The MOU covers cooperation and information exchange between the 4 institutions.

Key aims of the MOU include:

➡️ Promoting supervisory convergence across the EU’s financial sector;

➡️ Enabling the exchange of necessary information; and

➡️ Fostering cross-sector learning and capacity building in areas of mutual interest.

✅ Firms operating in the EU should review the announcement to ensure their regulatory reporting and information sharing mechanisms align with the renewed focus on inter-authority cooperation.
