The strategy aligns the CPS response to the increasing overlap between SEOC, with OCGs increasingly turning towards ‘poly-criminality’.

The strategy sets out 3 key pillars to meet the increasingly complex and technology focused challenges posed by SEOC:

  1. Enhanced capability and confidence: Uplifting the capability of the prosecution workforce to deliver stronger outcomes;
  2. Securing the nation: Strengthening the CPS role in protecting the public by disrupting serious threats earlier and more effectively; and
  3. Optimising our use of tech & AI: Exploring the use of digital tools and AI to improve efficiency and quality.

✅ With ‘poly-criminality’ continuing to rise, firms should review the alignment between their economic crime risk controls and investigations teams, ensuring multi-threat cases can be identified and addressed across a range of risk types.
