The European Banking Authority (“EBA”) has published its fourth biennial “Opinion of the European Banking Authority on Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Risks Affecting the EU’s financial sector”.

The report covers:

  • New and emerging cross-sectoral risks;
  • Existing risks that remain relevant; and
  • Risks and controls specific to several firms and financial sectors, including payment institutions, investment firms, and crypto-assets service providers.

Firms with operations in the EU should read the report to gain insights into the risks relevant to their sector.
